立法會快訊介紹 Introducing Legislative Alert 列印 E-mail

作為香港市民，我們會為這個法治的社會而自豪。不過只有很少人知道，法治的社會並不一定就是公義的社會。好的法例可以保護我們的權利、自由和安全，但是惡劣的法例卻會限制我們的自由、甚至置人於死地。因此，我們必須挺身而出，確保好的法例能夠獲得通過及執行，惡法則要修改或者癈除。

香港更好大行動之友會做些甚麼呢？

立法會裏面發生了什麼事，正在研究什麼法律條例，這些條例的背景和制訂的原因、究竟有沒有必要存在等等，我們都會不斷向您滙報。

我們會以文章、書籍、聲音或視頻檔案的形式，將相關的資料送到立法會議員手上，確保他們在代表市民投票之前，完全了解這些法例內容。

我們也會代您草擬請願信，以方便您發表意見。

我們同時會記下立法會議員的投票意向，以便您決定是否會在下次選舉時，再投他們一票。這些都會上載到我們的網頁，列在「立法會快訊」之下，或者電郵給所有香港更好大行動之友；這些資訊都有助你決定下一次把票投給誰。

請記住，用好的法律去管治社會，才有好的法治社會。

 

We pride ourselves as living in a society of law. Few know that a society of law does not necessarily translate into a society of justice. There can be good laws that protect our rights, our freedom and safety but there can be bad laws that can restrict our freedom and kill us. So it is important that we need to do something to ensure that only good laws are passed, bad laws are repealed or amended.

What will the Friends of Better Hong Kong Movement Association do to this end?

  • We will keep you posted of what is happening in the legislative council; what ordinances and regulations are being considered; the background and the reason for such a law; whether we really need  it; and if so, the reasons why.

  • We will record and make public the voting behaviors of all the legislative council members on different legislations. This will be posted on our website under Legislative Alert or e-mail to Friends of Better Hong Kong Movement Association  members. This information should be useful to help  you to decide for whom to vote during the next election.

  • We will take action to make sure that bad legislation is not passed. These actions may  involve providing explanations of problems (education material) to other legislators, petitions  through e-mails and letters, and/orr marches or demonstrations.

Remember, a society of law is only as good as the law that governs the society.

 

Resources needed:

 

Staff: skilled volunteers or paid professionals.

 

Funds required: Depends on whether we need to hire professionals.

 

List of names of volunteers and/or paid professionals and their background will be posted on our website.

 

Time frame: An on-going project.
